Hello, There

Hello, there

It’s nice to see your smile

Ask how I am

And say you’re an ally.

Why, hello there

I hope you are quite well

I ask how you are

Good day, my friend.

Turning my back

I have to go

Your voice I heard

Speaking of me…

Words you say confuse me

“She thinks she’s better,

she’s not as important

as she pretends to be.”

Shaking my head,

You think out of hurt?

I’ve become numb

After all these years.

I will inform you, though,

No, I’m better than none.

I am really not important.

Pretending isn’t what I do.

I can understand…..

You can’t see inside my mind.

I have learned one thing

People are seldom what they seem.
