Anxiety

She left again.
Why? Will she come back?
Heart racing. Eyes searching through the window.
Faint ticking noise. Hell-bent on taunting me.
Must shut it out by my own voice. Only voice I’ve got.
Ears perking at the beep.
Footsteps draw closer.
The door opens and she returns.
My human.
Written in response to the Weekly Writing Challenge inspired/hosted by Boy with a Hat in which the task of telling a story in just 50 words is given.
