Some things that we experience in this world are worth going back for a visit. Sometimes, just a quick second trip will be all that you need.
Since I was very young, one thing I’ve loved to do is read. I used to read R.L. Stine books a lot – sometimes finishing 3 of his books in a week. I didn’t read the Goosebumps very much. I did, however, read the vampire books that he came out with which were the Fear Street.
They were great but there is another book that I can read over and over again without getting bored. I didn’t read it until a few years ago when my friend lent me it to me and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the satire, the quick and dry wit, and the flow.
That book is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
“The Antichrist is alive on earth at this moment, Sergeant. He is bringing about Armageddon, the Day of Judgment, even if he himself does not know it. Heaven and Hell are both preparing for war, and it’s all going to be very messy.”

I love the banter and the plot of the end of the world – the inevitable Apocalypse. Basically, the end of the world is coming but the angel and demon who were sent here long ago to watch over humans have grown fond of living here.
Aziraphale is the angel and Crowley is the demon.

The pair band together to try to find the misplaced Antichrist and, hopefully, stop the end of the world from happening at all.
Here is a fan made trailer for the book below.
I suppose the reason I love this book so much is because it never fails to kickstart my imagination. I always find myself becoming absolutely engrossed in this world. The writing style is so brilliantly executed that you get humor and intelligence from these two men. Where I’m from, the end of the world has been a major theme across the board and across the years.
With that said, it is particularly refreshing to see this lighter side.
The book even inspired me to write a short story in the style that the book was written.
If you haven’t read this book, I definitely would recommend it. I think I’ll be taking my next trip quite soon.
Thanks for so much for stopping by and hope you have a fantastic weekend.
~Susan
