Half-Light

NightFall

When my husband and I were spending an entire weekend at the Smoky Mountains, I told him that I’d never actually seen a Sunset. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the shops but we were hiking and exploring the entire weekend – it was magnificent.

It felt so good to be with him, in the cool breeze, as the sun was setting. I turned around and snapped this photo. I do remember a certain song popping in my head as I took this picture, and often think, of the song “Fishing In The Dark” by the Nitty Gritty Dirtband. Especially the first few lines:

“Lazy yellow moon comin’ up tonight
Shinin’ through the trees
Crickets are singin’ and lightning bugs
Are floatin’ on the breeze baby get ready.”

I’ll post the video for the song below if you’ve never heard it.

I love the way photos can take you back in time for a moment and bring those happy feelings.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday!

Thank you
