I am at the point in my life where I have to wonder if there isn't more out there than what I'm doing. At one point, I thought the sought after thing to do was gain full time employment. The truth is this: I am fortunate and blessed to have a full time job but I'm finding in the corporate world that sometimes that means you have to be a sell-out. Corporate America and the consumer age.
When I was younger, what I really wanted to be was someone who worked around history. That has a wide range of possibilities: Archaeology, Museum, Teacher, etc and so forth. Those undying interests have nothing to do with working retail. After thirteen years, I am ready to find something better. I am not quite sure what that is, but I am looking and doing a LOT of soul searching.
I am not meaning to come across as complaining but just saying: I don't know what the future holds for me. Its going to be one heck of a surprise to me. However, I know that wherever this road leads me is what I will have to deal with along with whatever failures or success occur from it.
Its going to be an interesting journey......
